South India's biggest Gem & Jewellery B2B meet GJIIE, a glittering success.
Chennai, Feb 28: Gems & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE) held at the Chennai Trade Centre was a great success. Held from 23 to 26 February, 2012, the trade fair provided a platform for Gold, Antique Jewellery, Silver, Leading Loose Gemstones, Jewellery and Machinery Manufacturers to interact and build lasting business relations with jewellers from the various cities, towns and villages of South India. The Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA) and UBM India were the organisers. Dr. K. Rosaiah – Governor of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the event at the Chennai Trade Centre.
Dr. K. Rosaiah said, "The Indian jewellery market is one of the largest in the world. This is proved by the fact that in spite of the record high gold prices and a weaker Indian rupee against the US Dollar, in the second half of 2011, India remained the largest country for gold demand in 2011 at 933.4 tonnes. Hence, one cannot deny the strong investment sentiment in jewellery in general and no wedding is complete without it.".read more...
